Within the runtime, deserialization can be a complex process. The runtime proceeds through the deserialization process sequentially, starting at the beginning and working its way through to the end. The process gets complicated if an object in the serialized stream refers to another object. If an object references another object, the Formatter (discussed in more detail in Lesson 3) queries the ObjectManager to determine whether the referenced object has already been deserialized (a backward reference), or whether it has not yet been deserialized (a forward reference). If it is a backward reference, the Formatter immediately completes the reference. However, if it is a forward reference, the Formatter registers a fixup with the ObjectManager. A fixup is the process of finalizing an object reference after the referenced object has been deserialized. Once the referenced object is deserialized, ObjectManager completes the reference.

Configuring and Using Content Advisor Content Advisor is accessed and configured by using Internet Explorer s Internet Options dialog box: 1. Open Internet Explorer, select Internet Options, and from the Internet Options dialog box, select the Content tab. 2. From the Content Advisor section, select Enable or Settings. 3. From the Ratings tab, select a category. Move the slider to the left for more restric tive settings; move the slider to the right for less restrictive settings. As you move the slider, read the descriptions of the rating levels in the Descriptions area. Repeat this step for all four categories: Language, Nudity, Sex, and Violence. 4. To add a site to the Approved Sites list or to disallow access to any website, select the Approved Sites tab and enter the name of the website in the Allow This website area. Choose Always to make the page always viewable, or Never to make sure it cannot be viewed. 5.
