WSE 3.0 enables Web services to be secured imperatively in code or declaratively using a security policy. WSE policies implement the WS-Policy specification. In general, you should use a policy for imple menting your Web service security requirements, but see http://msdn.microsoft.com/ library/default.asp url=/library/en-us/wse3.0/html/0610f54f-f8c4-4ded-9617 08384e5ed635.asp for information on securing a Web service without using a policy file. You should use a policy for implementing your Web service security requirements because a policy helps separate the business logic from the security requirements logic. The policy framework can also be extended so that any custom requirements can be added as extensions to the policy framework; think reuse instead of duplicate code. A policy helps your Web services validate that request messages conform to a defined security policy and automatically secures Web service responses. In addition, an administrator can manage a policy file once your Web service has been deployed to a production environment. The WSE 3.0 policy framework describes the constraints and requirements for com municating with Web services. A policy is compiled before any message exchange between a sender and a recipient takes place. So, a policy effectively becomes a run time component in the form of a SOAP message filter (see Lesson 3, Message Filters, for more information), and the policy requirements are applied at the sender or enforced at the recipient. Although policies can be used to apply various types of requirements, such as mes sage addressing, in this lesson you ll see how WSE 3.0 policies are used to apply secu rity requirements.

Normal, differential, and copy backups This strategy is the same as the first example that used normal and differential backups except that on Wednesday you perform a copy backup. Copy backups include all selected files and do not clear markers or interrupt the usual backup schedule. Therefore, each differential backup includes all changes since Monday. The copy backup done on Wednesday is not part of the Friday restore. Copy backups are helpful when you need to create a snapshot of your data and do not want to interrupt the normal backup routine.

Development of new features is on hold indefinitely. One hundred percent of your time will be dedicated to improving the security of your application. Existing application functionality must be retained, but users can tolerate some additional inconvenience for improved security.

Each version of Internet Explorer contains support for new Web programming features and deprecates a number of other features from old browser versions. Many Web sites on the Internet were designed to conform to browser standards that were current at the time, but which now are outdated. As a result, some of these sites do not display properly in the latest browsers, including the Internet Explorer version supplied in Windows 7. Some Web pages might display partially, with certain elements replaced by placeholders, whereas in others the layout of the elements on the page might be incorrect. Internet Explorer includes a feature called Compatibility View, which enables the browser to emulate older development standards. When the browser displays a Web page that is designed to an older standard, a broken window icon appears, as shown in Figure 11-9. Clicking that icon switches the browser into Compatibility View mode, which can sometimes improve the appearance of the page.

The only way to assign permissions in ISA Server is to use administrative roles. If an exam question mentions a user s having too many or too few permissions, check the administrative role configuration.
